one of my wish-lists for the year 2009 is a smartphone. have been wishing for one for quite sometime. tapi biasalah... kita ni minat barang branded tapi at the same time agak kedekut untuk menghabiskan duit untuk benda2 yang diklasifikasikan sebagai 'luxury' rather than necessity. i'm a simple person and very practical. most of the time guna phone pun hanya utk telephone, sms and buat reminder, camera pun jarang2 pakai sbb digital camera lagi cantik.
but during last raya, membuak2 rasa nak beli smartphone bila tengok my sisters' nokia e71 and blackberry. can get connected to the net, emails and gps, besides being a pda. elly nak g tesco yang dekat tu pun siap cari shortcut from gps nak lari dari traffic jam, masuk jalan kampung. ishh melampau nak show-off! kalu cari jalan kat kl tu logic gak (jealous sebenarnya!). alasan balik kb sekali-sekala bolehlah diterima.
so, during the last weekend, i have been wasting my time, feasting my eyes, browsing the net for smartphones. so these are the best at the moments:
1. samsung omnia
ada few other models that caught my interest, including the nokia models such as E71, E63, E90 and N96. but i think so far samsung and htc are the leading in designing thin, slim smartphones. samsung and htc are also the best in application of windows mobile 6.1 so far. but apple iphone 3G ada banyak kelebihannya, cuma dia pakai MacOSX.
it wouldn't be fair for me to comment on the best model since i haven't own one. you can always read its review on the net. what is more important to me to consider before buying any gadget (infact, anything), is the value for the money i would spent. would you be using all the functions made availabe on the gadget? if you do, then go for it. kalau setakat nak nampak bergaya, forget it. all these smartphones are quite pricey. omnia would cost around RM2799, sony experia is more than RM3K. tepuk dada, tanya selera. tapi sudah tentu, satisfaction is also important.
by the way, for those who are thinking of buying any of the above for my birthday, you are most welcome. it would be somewhere in september. any takers?
